RICHMOND, Ky.---With two players tied for 28th overall, the University of Cincinnati men's golf team sits eighth in the team standings through one day of play at the Eastern Kentucky Spring Invitational. UC shot rounds of 316 and 304 to close day one just three strokes out of seventh and eight back of the top-five.
Senior John Clodfelder and junior Joe Young are leading the way for Cincinnati, as each player totaled 154 on day one. Clodfelder fired identical rounds of 77, while Young shot a 79 and a 75.
Tennessee Tech, behind the play of individual leader Scott Stallings holds a three-shot lead over Northern Illinois in the team standings with a total of 586. Stallings opened play with a tournament-best 66 and followed that up with a second round 73.
The tournament concludes from the Arlington Golf Course with the final 18 holes on Saturday. Action is set to get underway at 8 a.m.
