, -The University of 's men's soccer team weathered heavy storms on Friday night to battle to a heartbreaking 1-0 loss at IU's Mellencamp Pavilion.

Due to the inclement weather, the match, part of the Midwest Soccer Coaches Symposium, was moved indoors on the IU campus. Despite a strong defensive effort by the Bearcats, the seven-time national champion Hoosiers scored in the 85th minute to secure the win.

In front of a crowd of almost 400, the Bearcats played a highly competitive match, creating many scoring chances. The Hoosiers, who lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament in the fall, played stout defensively as UC turned up the offensive pressure. The match was suspended for 10 minutes in the first half after tornado sirens sounded in the area.

Goalkeeper Mike Vessells (, /Turpin) made five saves for the Bearcats, who were playing for the first time since returning from a week-long road trip in . IU outshot UC, 13-8, on the evening.

The Bearcats will continue their spring season on April 8th as they host the Bearcat Invitational at Gettler Stadium. The tournament will begin at 12 p.m. as UC takes on the Cincinnati Kings of the USL. The Kings will then square off against at 1:30 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. kickoff between the Bearcats and Thundering Herd.
