CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team announced its team awards at its postseason banquet on Monday night at the Vernon Manor Hotel. Junior Treasure Humphries, who led the Bearcats in scoring and steals and was second in assists, was named Most Oustanding Player and Best Offensive Player.
Humphries, a native of Canton, Ohio, earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors after averaging 12.8 points, 3.6 assists and 2.5 steals per game, ranking among the league-leaders in all three.
The Best Defensive Player Award was split between seniors Micah Harvey and Bellva May. Harvey ranked fourth on the team in steals after missing the initial five games of the season. May finished third on the team in steals playing in a reserve role.
Other awards handed out included the Team Academic Award to Bianca Roldan-Jarus, Most Improved Post Award to Emy Ogide, Most Improved Guard Award to Angel Morgan and the Bearcat Award to senior Anne Stephens.
The Bearcats finished their first season in the BIG EAST 17-12, posting an eight-game turnaround from the year before and reaching the postseason for the eighth time in nine seasons.
