URBANA, Ill.---Hillery Wilson posted her ninth top-10 finish of the year, helping the University of Cincinnati women's golf team to a sixth place finish at the Illini Spring Classic, which concluded on Saturday at the Stone Creek Golf Club.
Wilson carded a final round 75 to end the tournament tied for sixth with a score of 151. The sophomore finished just one shot out of the top-five and five strokes behind individual medalist Cathryn Bristow of Oregon. Bristow shot a 72 on Saturday to win the tournament by one stroke.
The team standings showed Oregon on top by five strokes over Michigan with a final score of 610. Cincinnati's final tally of 625 took sixth place, five shots behind Indiana.
In the individual standings, both Allison Mayborg and Marianne Erb shot final round 78's for the Bearcats. Mayborg finished tied for 23rd, while Erb was tied for 26th.
The Bearcats will now prepare for their first-ever BIG EAST Championship, scheduled for April 23-25 at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Lake Jovita, Fla.
