, -The spring season continued today for the of men's soccer team as they battled to a 1-1 draw at Gettler Stadium.

The first half was physical as both teams battled for possession in the high intensity match-up. The Zips outshot UC by 1, shooting 6 shots to the Bearcats 5, but remained scoreless as goalkeeper Mike Vessells held at bay.

The Zips came out firing in the second half, as tallied the first goal of the game at the 54:55 mark when the Zip's Matt Tutich scored off an assist by Pablo Moreira. Morerira gathered a loose ball in the box and played the ball to Tutich who fired a shot into the back of the net.

The Bearcats evened the score in the 85th minute on a goal off of a set piece by Omar Cummings. Cummings scored from twenty yards out off a free kick resulting from an foul just outside of the box. A number of shots by UC were unable to find the back of the net as the Bearcats dominated in the final minutes of the match.

The Bearcats had an impressive performance, playing with only thirteen healthy bodies, due to a plague of injuries. out shot 14-12, and goalkeepers Mike Vessells and John-Michael Boggs combined to top the Zips in saves 4-3.

"This game was very competitive," said Head Coach Hylton Dayes. "In the first half play was even but in the second half, we really opened up. We showed resolve and great heart by coming back and creating chances for ourselves."

The Bearcats will continue their spring season on Saturday, April 22nd as they face off against . The match will take place off site at . Kick off is set for 5 p.m.
