CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati heads into its final week of spring workouts with four practices this week leading up to the annual Red-Black game on Saturday, April 22 in Nippert Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
Practice sessions will be on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. UC head coach Mark Dantonio and his staff will stage a player draft on Thursday to split up the teams for the Spring Game.
"Our guys have worked hard this spring and we have had good competition at a lot of positions," Dantonio said. "I have been pleased with our effort most of the time, yet I know we need to get better in a lot of areas, too. I am looking forward to who comes out ready to play and compete on Saturday, and who plays with toughness and who plays fast."
The Red-Black Game on Saturday will culminate the annual Football Lettermen's Weekend. The 12th annual event will begin with a golf outing at Pebble Creek Golf Course on Friday, April 21. The Bearcat Pig Roast dinner on Friday evening will feature a 25-year reunion of the 1981 UC football team.
On Saturday morning, the Jim Kelly Captains Breakfast will commence at 9 a.m. at the Faculty Club on the UC campus. The Bearcat football team and coaching staff will conduct a clinic in Nippert Stadium from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon, which will be followed by a 30-minute autograph session on the field from Noon until 12:30 p.m.
