TAMPA, Fla. -- Former University of Cincinnati men's soccer standout Jeff Hughes was named the United Soccer Leagues Second Division Player of the Week after scoring twice in the Cincinnati Kings' 2-0 victory at Harrisburg on April 29.

Hughes, in his second year with the Kings, has started each of the squad's first three matches of the 2006 season and leads the team with two goals and nine shots.

Hughes is joined on the Kings roster by another former Bearcat, John Liersemann.

The Kings' home opener is set for Friday, May 5, against the Western Mass Pioneers.  Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the Xavier University Soccer Complex.
