, - Junior University of Cincinnati track and field standout Renee Hein (, /Mother of Mercy) has been selected to compete at the 2006 NCAA Championships in She will join teammate Chandler Groves (Payne, Ohio/Wayne Trace), who earned an automatic bid after finishing fifth in the long jump at the Mid-East Regional Championships.

Hein, a 2005 NCAA qualifier in the high jump, currently ranks 16th in the nation with a 5' 10-3/4" clearance. Her mark is second in outdoor school history and she holds the indoor school mark with a 5' 9-1/4" jump. Hein won the high jump at the 2005 Conference USA Indoor Championship, while finishing second at the 2006 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships and sixth at the indoor meet.

qualified for the NCAA Championships in the long jump by finishing fifth at the regional competition, leaping a season-best 25' 0", just 2-3/4" shy of his personal best. He finished third at the BIG EAST Championships and ranks fourth in school history in the event.

The NCAA Championships will take place June 7-10 at the A.G. Spanos Sports Complex in Both Hein and will be in action on Wed., June 7, in qualifying rounds.
