CINCINNATI, Ohio---Jesse D'Amico, a standout catcher from the Pittsburgh, Pa.-area and a University of Cincinnati signee was drafted during the Major League Baseball First-year Player Draft which concluded on Wednesday. D'Amico was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 21st round and was the 632nd player picked overall.
D'Amico (Bessemer, Pa./Mohawk) enjoyed an outstanding senior season, batting .600 with 26 runs scored, 11 doubles, six home runs and 25 RBI.
D'Amico is one of two players with UC ties to be drafted, joining Bearcat senior 1B Logan Parker. Parker was taken in the 12th round by the Cincinnati Reds.
