Blevins (Louisa, Ky./Lawrence County) evolved into the ace of the Bearcat pitching staff, finishing the year with a 9-5 record to earn a share of the lead in victories in the BIG EAST. Twice named the league's pitcher of the week, Blevins was tabbed a second team all-conference selection by the BIG EAST. He also led the league with 101.0 innings pitched and set the Cincinnati freshman record for victories.
Harrison (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton), a third team All-BIG EAST selection was equally outstanding, contributing at a number of defensive positions. In starting all 58 games, Harrison led the Bearcats with a .367 batting average and ranked among the BIG EAST leaders with 67 runs and 84 hits. He also added 14 doubles, five home runs and 43 RBI.
The duo becomes the first Cincinnati players to earn Freshman All-American honors since Kyle Markle in 2002. Prior to Markle, Chris Hamblen (1999) and Tony Maynard (2001) were chosen as Louisville Slugger Freshman All-Americans.
