, - assistant men's soccer coach Joe Spagnola will not rejoin the team for its second fall campaign in the BIG EAST Conference. He will pursue a teaching position and remain coaching at the youth level with a local club in the , area.

"We will miss Joe next year. He was a valuable member of our staff and had a great rapport with the players," said head coach Hylton Dayes. "We want to wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

Spagnola, who completed his first season at UC in 2005, helped the Bearcats to a 10-7-2 overall record and a third-place finish in the BIG EAST. A 1999 graduate of , Spagnola earned a master's degree from St. Francis (), where he was also an assistant coach and goalkeeper trainer with the Red Flash.

A national search for a new assistant soccer coach will conclude later this month.
