BILLINGS, Mont.---Former University of Cincinnati first baseman Logan Parker is set to make his professional debut tonight (June 20) when the Billings Mustangs open the 2006 season, taking on the Great Falls White Sox.

Parker, who was a 12th round pick of the Cincinnati Reds in this month's Major League Baseball Draft, is the only first baseman listed on the Mustangs' roster. The Odessa, Texas native will wear jersey No. 9 for the Mustangs.

Action from Billings' Cobb Field will get underway at 9:05 p.m. ET. Live audio for this and most Mustangs' games is available by logging onto the Billings section of www.minorleaguebaseball.com.

Parker will see a familiar face in the opposing dugout this evening, as Great Falls' roster features former Kentucky star John Shelby III. In addition to competing against UC the last two three seasons, Shelby is also the cousin of current Bearcat Josh Harrison.

Parker enjoyed an outstanding senior season for UC, capping it off with a third team All-BIG EAST selection. He finished the year hitting .344 and ranked among the conference leaders with 11 home runs, 69 RBI, 61 runs scored, 18 doubles and seven triples. Parker helped the Bearcats to a 32-26 overall record and a spot in the BIG EAST tournament, marking UC's first post-season appearance since 2001.
