CINCINNATI, Ohio---With the construction of the Richard E. Lindner Center now complete, University of Cincinnati fans can enjoy the many amenities the building offers, including the new Bearcat Pride Shop which opened its doors for business on June 19. Located on the fourth floor atrium of the Center, the Pride Shop is Bearcat fans' number one stop for all UC merchandise needs.

The Pride Shop, which is proudly operated by Zide's Sport Shop, Inc., features a wide selection of Cincinnati apparel and souvenirs for both children and adults. The shop is currently open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will also be available to fans on gamedays throughout the football and basketball seasons. In addition to the retail location, Zide's will also have a presence within Nippert Stadium and Fifth Third Arena during home contests.

According to store manager Frank Zide, the Pride Shop offers one distinct advantage over the UC Bookstore. "We have alot of different items than the bookstore and the good thing is, the profits go back into athletics. We encourage all UC fans to stop in and visit us and see what we have."

Zide's has been in the sporting goods and retail business since 1958 and is based out of Marietta, Ohio. The family-owned company also has partnerships with Marshall and West Virginia, which includes a retail location at the latter's Coliseum. Zide points to a strong relationship with UC Director of Athletics Emeritus Bob Goin as the turning point in the company partnering with the Bearcats.

"Director Goin had worked with us in the past and he encouraged us to put in a bid," Zide said. "I think that and the fact that we had worked with West Virginia, a BIG EAST member, may have helped. Having our own lettering plant helps too."

The Bearcat Pride Shop, Proudly Operated by Zide's Sport Shop, Inc. is just another example of the growing excitement surrounding the opening of the Richard E. Lindner Center.
