- The University of Cincinnati Athletics Department has begun its first annual Bearcat Caravan. The Caravan is designed to promote and position the program, its coaches and its athletes at hot spot events throughout the Greater Cincinnati area from July through September.
"The Bearcat Caravan is a innovative way for the Cincinnati Athletics Department to promote our program and our student-athletes," said Joel Barnhill, UC Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Fan Development. "Fans will have the unique opportunity to meet Bearcat student-athletes and coaches and take home some Bearcat souvenirs."
A mobile interactive display housed in a Bearcat van, will be the hub of activity at each Bearcat Caravan stop. UC student-athletes and coaches will be on hand at most events to sign autographs and meet fans. Promotional giveways will be distributed and music and an inflatable football toss will be available for entertainment. Fans can register to win season tickets, single game tickets and Olympic Sports Passes, which allow the holder admission to all UC men's and women's soccer, volleyball and baseball games throughout the 2006-07 season.
Every Monday from July 10-Aug. 28 will be a Bearcat Monday at 's Sunlite Pool. The Caravan will also visit Party in the Park at Sawyer Point (July 19, Aug. 2 and Aug. 16), and Greater Anderson Days (July 28-30).
