Tilford To Transfer From UC

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Domonic Tilford is leaving the University of Cincinnati men's basketball program and intends to transfer to another Division I school.

"I want to thank everyone at UC for their support," stated Tilford. "I feel I need a change and a year to sit out and develop, so I have decided to seek transfer to another Division I school."

"I fully support Dom's decision to transfer," stated UC head coach Mick Cronin. "We wish him all the best for his future."

Tilford, who was named Mr. Basketball for the state of Kentucky following his senior season at Jeffersontown High in Louisville, saw action in 22 of Cincinnati's 34 games as a first-year freshman last season, averaging 2.4 points. He had averaged 20.4 points while leading his high school to the finals of the state tournament in 2005.
