The UC football team suited up in full pads for the first time this fall today, day number five of preseason practices.

For most of the team, full contact drills are nothing new. But for freshman defensive back Brandon Miller, the practice will bring about his first organized full contact session in quite some time because Miller missed his entire senior season in high school.

The defensive back from Withrow High in has long dreamt of playing football at the . Going into his senior year, though, he found himself putting that wish on hold when he couldn't play football due to a broken wrist. He gets a chance to prove himself all over again in the upcoming season.

Miller says that he is only about 25% and had an x-ray taken Wednesday. Nevertheless, he is excited and confident about the upcoming year, and says he will be working hard to get back to 100% and fighting for a starting spot in the defensive backfield.

The Bearcats closed out today's practice with a live scrimmage and a two-minute drill. Dominick Goodman took a pass from Dustin Grutza and sped 52 yards for a touchdown during the scrimmage and both first and second team offenses converted field goals in the two-minute drill.
