- The University of football team conducted its first two-a-day practices of the preseason on Saturday.
The morning practice signified the first full-contact session of the preseason for head coach Mark Dantonio's squad. The Bearcats marched on to the Nippert Stadium turf in the afternoon wearing shells (helmets and shoulder pads).
"During two-a-days, expect the team to wear full pads in the first session and shells in the second," said Dantonio. "We will be back in full pads for the single practice days. This will be our MO as long as we're getting things done."
The Bearcats will conduct a single practice on Sunday, beginning at Immediately following the workout, they will pack for Monday morning's trip to the in West Harrison, Ind.
