-- The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team has received three votes in the Soccer Times Preseason Poll, equating to a No. 40 national ranking.
UC is one of six BIG EAST programs to receive votes in the national poll of 16 current collegiate head coaches. UConn tops the conference contingent at No. 4, while Notre Dame (No. 14), USF (No. 16), (No. 21), (No. 27), and Seton Hall (No. 36) each earn mention in the poll. UC opponent SMU is ranked No. 3 in the current poll.
The Bearcats will kick off the 2006 regular season against crosstown rival Xavier on Friday, Aug. 25. Kickoff from XU Soccer Complex is slated for 7 p.m. The home opener is set for Aug. 29 against Bradley. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
