Early Goal Helps UC to Season-Opening Win
, -- Freshman goalkeeper Andrea Kaminski (, /Noblesville) was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after making five saves in posting a 1-0 shutout win against in her first collegiate match.
Kaminski made her first career start count, as she handled all five shots on frame by the Wildcats. Her stellar play in the opener helped UC to its first regular-season victory against since 1997 and the first season-opening win since 2003.
"Andrea did what she needed to do over the summer to come into the season as a fit goalkeeper," said assistant coach and goalkeeper trainer Stefani Workman. "She trains hard and works to make herself better. She continues to gain confidence in herself and from her teammates in each match she plays."
