, - The University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2006 season with wins at the this afternoon on the campus of the Virginia Military Institute.
The Bearcats showed superior depth, topping both Radford and host VMI, as seven of each of UC's men and women finished in the top 13 or their respective races.
The top men's finisher, sophomore Randy King, finished second, just four seconds behind champion Anthony Harris of VMI. John Dixon, Tommy Morgan, Kyle Dragan and David Adams followed, finishing in fifth through eighth place, respectively.
Nichole Leslie, Jennifer Hannen and Megan Knapp finished second, third and fourth, respectively. Radford freshman Lori Crotts was the individual champion.
UC will take a two-week respite and return to action on Sept. 15, hosting the Queen City Invitational at .
