CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Twelve games against teams that appeared in the postseason last year and a home date with five-time national champion Connecticut highlight the University of Cincinnati's 2006-07 women's basketball schedule.

The Bearcats will play seven teams that reached the NCAA Tournament and five WNIT participants. Six of those teams will play in Fifth Third Arena, including Elite 8 finisher Connecticut (Jan. 30) and crosstown rival Xavier (Jan. 17).

UC opens the regular season at Youngstown State on Nov. 10, then plays the next four games at home, starting with Arkansas Pine-Bluff (Nov. 14) and including Dayton (Nov. 16).

The Bearcats open December by participating in the 23rd annual Mildred and Roger L. White Invitational, hosted by Northwestern (Dec. 1-2). UC will open against Northern Illinois and will face the host Wildcats or 2006 Ivy League co-champion Princeton.

The Bearcats play three of the next four at home, including a match-up with Tennessee Tech (Dec. 21), which won 23 games last year and reached the WNIT. The one road contest in this stretch is the 2006-07 BIG EAST opener at rival Louisville on Dec. 14. The year closes with a trip to face Arkansas on Dec. 28.

After opening the new year by hosting Georgetown (Jan. 3), UC plays three straight against 2006 NCAA Tournament teams. The Bearcats visit USF (Jan. 6) and Notre Dame (Jan. 10) and return home to play DePaul (Jan. 13). That stretch is immediately followed by the annual game against Xavier in Fifth Third Arena.

January closes with home match-ups against WNIT runner-up Marquette (Jan. 27) and Connecticut, the first time the Bearcats will host the Huskies. February opens with three of four on the road vs. NCAA teams Rutgers (Feb. 3) and St. John's (Feb. 17) and WNIT semifinalist Pittsburgh (Feb. 13).

The regular season closes at home against Syracuse on Feb. 26 before the 2007 BIG EAST Tournament in Hartford, Conn.
