, -- The Bearcats proved that in the 25th year of the annual Queen City Invitational, they were ready to run. The Bearcats men's and women's cross-country teams each took first-place finishes this afternoon at .
The men's team swept the competition with the top four places belonging to the Bearcats. Solomon Kessio (26:37.61) led the pack for with Rick King, Scott Mindel, and Bill Keckeis following close behind. The men's team defeated and with team scores of; 18, Marshall University 38, and Kentucky State 78.
Megan Knapp (19:16.40) took the first place finish for the women's team in the 5k. The women's team also dominated the course with Jennifer Hannen, Nichole Leslie, Amy Schoenfeld, Tamara Masters, Julie Horn, Courtney Hentz, and Kayla Phelps holding down the third- through ninth- place finishes.
The men get right back at it tomorrow at the Mel Brodt Invitational in , at 11:00 a.m.
