CINCINNATI, Ohio---Nearly 15 former University of Cincinnati volleyball players will gather in the Richard E. Lindner Center for the annual Alumni Match this Saturday, Sept. 16. The event will be staged in the practice gym on the first floor of the Lindner Center at 7:30 p.m.
"The alumni match is a great chance to connect the past and present of UC Volleyball," head coach Reed Sunahara said. "For me personally, I look forward to seeing some of the many players I have coached in my nine-plus years here. I also think it's a great opportunity for our younger players to interact with some of the greats in the program and gain a better understanding of what Bearcats Volleyball is all about."
The Alumni Match is free and open to the public. To get to the gym, enter the front doors of the Lindner Center and take the elevator to the first floor. Take a right off the elevator and then a left at the equipment room. Follow the long hallway to the end and take another left. The gym is on the right in the next hallway.
Among the alumni expected to be in attendance are former honorable mention All-American Laura Lauder, Becky Tenkman, who ranks second in school history in career kills, current assistant coach Chrissy Smith and Maria Pongonis, an all-conference selection last year in the Bearcats' first season in the BIG EAST.
