NOTRE DAME, Ind.---Cincinnati shot a season-best round of 303 en route to the biggest win in program history as the Bearcats captured the Lady Irish Invitational title on Sunday at the Warren Golf Course. The Bearcats erased a four-shot deficit after 36 holes to win its first tournament title of the year.
The Bearcats were led by junior Hillery Wilson who won the sixth tournament of her career, taking the title with a final round score of 72. Wilson totaled 218 for the tournament, winning by three shots over Stephany Fleet of Eastern Michigan.
Notre Dame, which led after the opening day of play, combined to shoot a final round score of 313. losing their lead and finishing six strokes behind the winning Bearcats.
UC also got a top-20 finish from junior Allison Mayborg, who finished tied for 16th after a final round 75. Mayborg finished the tournament with a score of 233.
The Bearcats return to action on Friday, Sept. 29, hosting Northern Kentucky. The event will be played at the Elks Run Golf Course in Batavia.
