SETTING THE SCENE: The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team, winners of two straight, begins a four-match homestand by hosting Syracuse and St. John's this weekend at Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats, 5-3-1 on the year and 1-1-0 in the BIG EAST, face the Orange (1-8-2, 0-3-0) on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. and the Red Storm (5-1-3, 1-0-2) on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m.

STORYLINES:
 • The Bearcats five wins are the most since 17 in 2002.
• Freshman Andrea Kaminski has posted three shutouts in net and is second in the BIG EAST in saves.
• UC is 3-0-1 at home this season and has not lost in its last five matches at Gettler Stadium (3-0-2).
• Sixty-eight of the Bearcats' 99 starts have come from players in their first or second year at UC.
• Head coach Meridy Glenn is in her 24th season at the helm of the Bearcats and owns a 247-167-33 career record.
• The Bearcats have never played Syracuse or St. John's.
• UC was picked to finish eighth in the National Division in the BIG EAST preseason coaches poll after finishing their first season in the BIG EAST at 3-14-4 overall and 1-8-2 in conference play.
• Syracuse is 1-8-2 this season and 0-3-0 in the BIG EAST. Picked to finish fourth in the American Division in the preseason, the Orange are winless in their last five and have scored just six goals this season.
• The Red Storm are 5-1-3 overall and 1-0-2 in the league. They have scored more than one goal in only two matches, but have five shutouts and are 23rd in the nation in goals against average (.508).Natasha Lee has scored four of SJU's 11 goals.

NOTES FROM DE PAUL MATCH:
 • Freshman Erin MacDonald scored her third goal in the last two games.
• The Bearcats won back-to-back matches for the first time since Oct. 15, 2004.
• Sophomore Lindsey Noteboom scored her second goal in as many BIG EAST matches.
• UC reached double-digits in shots on goal (10) for the fifth time this season.

APPROACHING MILESTONE:
 In 2001 Head Coach Meridy Glenn became the first female in NCAA Division I history to earn 200 career women's soccer victories. Now in her 24th season, she is just three short of reaching 250 career wins. She is the second-winningest female coach in NCAA Division I history and 13th all-time in career wins.

MacDONALD FINDS THE NET:
 After being a constant scoring threat for the Bearcats in every match, freshman Erin MacDonald finally broke into the scoring column with the first two goals of her career in UC's 3-0 win over Cleveland State on Sept. 17. She added her third a match later against DePaul. For the season, MacDonald leads the team with six points.

KAMINSKI HONORED:
 Freshman keeper Andrea Kaminski started her career off right by making five saves in UC's season-opening 1-0 win over Kentucky. For her efforts she was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Aug. 28. She opened her career with 227:52 of scoreless netminding. She is third in the BIG EAST and 30th in the nation with 6.44 saves per game.

POWER OF YOUTH:
 While the Bearcats return nine starters, they are indeed a young team. Eighteen players are in their first or second year at UC. Of the 99 starts made this year, 68 have been made by these players.

INEXPERIENCE IN THE NET:
 The Bearcats boast four goalkeepers on the roster. Three are freshmen and one is a sophomore. Entering this season, none of the four had played even a minute in net for UC. Sophomore Andrea Bouldin, who made four starts for Eastern Michigan in 2005 before transferring, has the most prior experience, but freshman Andrea Kaminski has grabbed the starting job, playing every minute except 22:20 this year.

UC TABBED TO FINISH EIGHTH IN BIG EAST NATIONAL DIVISION:
 The Bearcats were picked to finish eighth in the BIG EAST's National Division by the conference's coaches. UC finished third in the Red Division last season. The Bearcats were picked just behind Seton Hall and DePaul.
