, -- fans attending Saturday's sporting events on the UC Campus are encouraged to wear red to show their support for the Bearcats.
Saturday's three-some of games will be the first in a series of `C' of Red games during the 2006-07 athletics year. This concept builds on the highly successful RING OF RED men's basketball games, which have been a staple of spirit during past seasons.
Saturday's athletics lineup is as follows:
Volleyball vs. Villanova* 1 p.m. Fifth Third Arena
Cattitude at 1 p.m.
Bearcats Kids Zone 1 p.m. Marge Schott Stadium
Bearcat Gameday Pregame Show 1:30 p.m. Victory Plaza & 87.7 FM on campus
Football vs. 3:30 p.m. Nippert Stadium
Men's Soccer vs. USF* 7 p.m. Gettler Stadium
Nippert Stadium will be the site for the annual SKYLINE CHILI 2-for-1 DAY, where you can get two reserved seat tickets to the UC/Akron football game for only $22. Great seats are still available so make your plans now to be a part of a great day of college football in the heart of the UC campus.
CATTITUDE will open in at 1 p.m., featuring the live band sounds of Vintage Gear, corn hole games, and the live broadcast of BEARCAT GAMEDAY, featuring Tommy Gelehrter and Scott Springer of 700WLW.
Tailgating fans can listen to this broadcast on 87.7 FM beginning at 1:30 p.m. A special re-broadcast of the BEARCAT SPORTS HOUR will begin at 12:30 p.m.
The UC Marching Band and Bearcat Cheerleaders and Dance Team will hold a pregame pep rally in CATTITUDE beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Nippert Stadium Gates open at 2 p.m. and fans are encouraged to begin moving in to the facility no later than 3 p.m. Beginning this week all pregame festivities will close on campus thirty minutes prior to the start of the game.
