DELAWARE, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country teams finished second and ninth, respectively, at the All-Ohio Championships Friday afternoon at Ohio Wesleyan University.

The men's squad saw its top five runners place within the top 24 places, finishing behind Ohio State for state supremacy. Randy King was UC's top finisher, placing 10th in 26:15. Kevin Schwarz (26:27.0) and John Dixon (26:27.4) came in back-to-back, finishing 15th and 16th, respectively. Solomon Kessio (26:36) and Taylor Garvin (26:39) rounded out the UC scorers, placing 22nd and 24th.

On the women's side, the Bearcats' top finisher, Jennifer Hannen, placed 22nd in 19:17.8. Megan Knapp (19:30) and Nichole Leslie (19:39.3) soon followed in 36th and 47th, respectively. Ohio University earned state bragging rights, squeezing past Ohio State, despite three top-10 finishes from the Buckeyes.

UC will head to Terre Haute, Ind., next Saturday for the Brooks Pre-National Championships.
