OXFORD, Ohio -- Four Bearcats went 3-0 in singles play to headline UC's participation in the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio on October 7 and 8. Freshmen Rachel Owens and Valeriya Dandik, sophomore Jenny Rowen and junior Jennifer Keiner were all perfect in singles play.
The tournament, featuring competitors from Austin Peay, Ball State, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Wright State, Xavier and the host Miami, consisted of three rounds each of singles play and doubles play.
Owens won all three of her matches in straight sets, as did Rowen, who lost only five games total. Senior Madison Reasoner won two of her three matches.
In doubles play, the teams of Keiner and Elizabeth Young and Dandik and Hannah Hinton both won two matches.
The Bearcats are next in action at the ITA Midwest Regionals in East Lansing, Mich. beginning on Oct. 19.
