CORAOPOLIS, Pa.---With three players in the top-10, the University of Cincinnati men's golf team is just one shot off the lead through one day of play at the Crowne Plaza Colonial Classic. At the tournament's halfway point, the Bearcats are tied with Niagara for second place, just one shot behind defending champion Loyola (Md.).

Showing the way for Cincinnati is the duo of senior Geoff Newman and sophomore Albert Fernandez. Both players carded opening round scores of 73 to hold a tie for fifth on the individual leaderboard. The score for the latter matches his season best. Senior Joe Young is tied for eighth after shooting a 74 on Monday. Niagara's Chris Hart holds the top spot by three shots after an opening round 67. Hart took the top spot on the strength of his first career hole-in-one.

The tournament, being played at the Montour Heights Country Club and being hosted by Robert Morris, concludes on Tuesday with the final 18 holes getting underway at 9:30 a.m.
