CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team will benefit from the BIG EAST's expansion of its television coverage for the 2006-07 season. For the fifth straight season, the league has increased its exposure. The BIG EAST has 82 total appearances, up from 71 a year ago. In addition, and also for the first time, all 11 BIG EAST Championship games will be televised.
For the second consecutive year, College Sports Television (CSTV) will broadcast a "Conference Game of the Week" which will include 10 conference games during the 2006-07 league schedule. The BIG EAST is the only women's basketball conference to have a "Game of the Week" package on CSTV. The Bearcats will be featured on the CSTV "Conference Game of the Week" when they travel to take on BIG EAST foe Pittsburgh on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.
The conference also expanded its women's basketball coverage on ESPNU this year. The network will air four regular-season conference games, two regular-season non-conference games, along with the BIG EAST Championship Quarterfinals and Semifinals on March 4 and 5, respectively. Cincinnati's home contest against DePaul will be featured live on ESPNU on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 5:30 p.m.
