FRANKLIN, Ind.---Hillery Wilson shot a team-best round of 74 to improve to 16th in the final rundown at the Legends of Indiana Shootout, which concluded on Tuesday. Wilson's score moved her up eight spots in the finishing order to 16th with a total of 225.
The team standings were none too kind to the Bearcats during the tournament as the squad posted a 13th place finish. UC's total of 310 was its best of the tournament and allowed the Bearcats to move out of a tie with Ball State and two spots ahead of BIG EAST rival St. John's. Cincinnati finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 934.
Sarah Bires and Marianne Erb each carded rounds of 78 in the finale to earn ties for 61st and 65th place, respectively. Mary Mattson of Campbell snapped a first day tie with a round of 73 to win the tournament by one shot over a trio of golfers. Mattson's play helped Campbell to the team title by 13 shots over Illinois.
The Bearcats return to action with their first of three home tournaments next week. The Cincinnati Fall Invitational will be held Oct. 16-17 at the Elks Run Golf Course in Batavia, Ohio.
