CINCINNATI, Ohio---The University of Cincinnati baseball team kicks off the fall practice season on Saturday, Oct. 14 in preparation for the program's annual Red/Black World Series in early November. The Bearcats, under the direction of 11th year head coach Brian Cleary, will welcome back 17 letterwinners from last season's team, but will have to replace five starters.
"We have 15 newcomers joining our roster this year," Cleary stated. "With so many departed starters, this fall practice session is very important. We are anxious to get on the field and see what we have."
The fall practice will run until mid-November, with the five-game intrasquad series putting a cap on the session. The schedule for the Red/Black World Series is as follows:
Game 1: Sat., Nov. 4, 5 p.m.
Game 2: Sun., Nov. 5, 1 p.m.
Game 3: Fri., Nov. 10, 2:30 p.m.
Game 4: Sat., Nov. 11, 1 p.m.
Game 5: Sun., Nov. 12: Noon
The entire World Series will be played in the state-of-the-art Marge Schott Stadium. Admission to all games in free and open to the public.
The Bearcats finished the campaign 32-26, qualifying for the BIG EAST Tournament in the team's first-year in the league.
