CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati men's and women's basketball teams will host intrasquad scrimmages this weekend at Fifth Third Arena. UC women's basketball head coach Laurie Pirtle will hold her first scrimmage this Saturday, Oct. 21 at 11:15 a.m. Head coach Mick Cronin will hold a men's basketball scrimmage Sunday, Oct. 22 at 11:30 a.m. and doors will open at 11 a.m. Both scrimmages are open to the public. The head coaches hope to create a game-like atmosphere in these intrasquad scrimmages as they inch closer to the start of the 2006-07 season. The teams are completing their first week of preseason which concludes with the men's preseason exhibition match up against Northern Kentucky on Wed. Nov. 1 and Ottawa on Sat. Nov. 4, and the women's preseason exhibition games on Fri., Nov. 3 against DT3 and Mon. Nov. 6 against OGBR All-Stars. All four preseason games will be played at Fifth Third Arena.
