EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Senior Hannah Hinton and junior Valeriya Dandik begin play at the ITA Midwest Regional tennis tournament on Friday in East Lansing, Mich. The two will compete as a doubles team, opening up against Ruzimovsky and Blackmore from Ohio State.
Two rounds of doubles will be played on Friday. Singles play begins for the Bearcats tandem on Saturday.
Earlier in the week, freshman Rachel Owens competed in the qualifying singles draw, attempting to win her way into the main draw. She fell in the first round to Kristen Messmer of Ohio State, 6-4, 6-2. She recovered to win her consolation match against Aneta Maricevic of Detroit, 6-2, 7-5.
Dandik is 3-1 in singles play so far this season and Hinton is 3-2. The pair are 2-1 as a doubles team.
