CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team, which captured the school's first-ever BIG EAST team title on Saturday, earned spots in each of the four national college soccer polls this week.
The Bearcats (11-4-2/7-3-1 BIG EAST) are ranked No. 15 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll and No. 18 in the Soccer America poll. UC also notched top-20 recognition in the College Soccer News (No. 21) and Soccer Times (No. 25) polls.
Cincinnati has been ranked as high as No. 14 in the nation this season. UC has marquee wins against No. 12 Notre Dame and at No. 23 St. John's and two of its four losses have come on the road against current No. 1 SMU and current No. 3 West Virginia.
The Bearcats, winners of nine of their past 11 contests, earned a first-round bye in the BIG EAST Tournament and will host the winner of the Louisville-Providence first-round match on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Gettler Stadium. The quarterfinal match will kick off at 7 p.m. with the winner moving on to the BIG EAST semifinals, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, in Piscataway, N.J. Tickets are just $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under, and $1 per person for groups of 10 or more. Fans will be admitted free to the soccer match by presenting their ticket stub from the UC-Syracuse Homecoming football game, which kicks off at noon in Nippert Stadium.
