CINCINNATI, Ohio---The University of Cincinnati baseball team's practice on Wednesday had a special guest as former Bearcat and current Boston Red Sox first baseman Kevin Youkilis stopped by and visited with the players.

"It's always great having `Youk' back on campus," Bearcat head coach Brian Cleary said. "Its obvious that he still feels strongly about UC and to hear him talk about his days as a Bearcat is great for our current players. To this day, `Youk' remains in close contact with the University and the team and that's a great thing. For our players to hear from a guy that has a World Series ring and wore the same uniform and went to the same classes is a very meaningful thing."

Sophomore Josh Harrison, a native of Cincinnati, was also excited to visit with and hear from a fellow Cincinnatian.

"It was good having him here, he offered us lots of pointers and insight," Harrison said. "He really wanted to help us get better and wanted us to make sure we were taking care of our business in the classroom as well. He also expressed that for most of us this will be out last chance to play ball so make the most of it."

The Bearcats will continue fall practice through Nov. 12. UC will conduct its five-game Red/Black World Series beginning on Saturday, Nov. 4.
