CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Three BIG EAST match-ups featuring the University of Cincinnati Bearcats will highlight a full slate of action in the Richard E. Lindner Varsity Village on Saturday. Volleyball, Football, Men's Soccer and a host of student activities will set the pace for Homecoming Weekend 2006 in Clifton.
Due to the large amount of celebrations in a short amount of time on Saturday, please arrive as early as possible to avoid Homecoming traffic. You are encouraged to avoid the parade route of Calhoun Street, Clifton Ave. and Probasco Street.
UC Volleyball hits the court in Fifth Third Arena starting at 10 a.m. as they face BIG EAST foe Notre Dame. Head Coach Reed Sunahara's squad has won four of its past five matches and is looking to upend the second-best team in the BIG EAST. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children. UC students are admitted free with a valid UC ID.

Also at 10 a.m. the 2006 HOMECOMING PARADE will commence with Mayor Mark Mallory (UC, BS '95) being honored as this year's Grand Marshall. The parade will include performances by many area high school bands and will feature the annual Float Competition. The parade will begin at Calhoun Street, proceed north on Clifton Ave. and end at Probasco Street. On the west side of Clifton Ave. the floats will be on display during and after the parade. This is your chance to experience the pride of UC's student organizations up close and personal!
Bearcat football pregame festivities will be combined in one location before the Bearcats face Syracuse in a Homecoming BIG EAST battle. Both CATTITUDE at Varsity Village & the Bearcats Kids' Zone will be held on Sheakley Lawn from 9:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the Noon kickoff. The festivities will include music, inflatables, interactive games, cornhole, putt putt and much more. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.

BEARCAT GAMEDAY, hosted by Tommy Gelehrter and Scott Springer, will be broadcast from CATTITUDE beginning at 10 a.m. Guests on Saturday's show include UC assistant coach and Syracuse alum Dave Warner, former Syracuse head coach and UC assistant coach Dick MacPherson, Cincinnati Post beat writer C. Trent Rosecrans, and UC's deputy director of athletics Bob Arkeilpane. The show can be heard throughout campus on 87.7 FM.
The pregame BEAT SYRACUSE PEP RALLY will begin at 11 a.m. featuring performances by the Bearcats Band and Cheerleaders.
All pregame activities will close 30 minutes prior to kickoff as patrons make their way into Nippert Stadium. The Football Bearcats are scheduled to take the field at approximately 11:55 a.m. and fans are encouraged to be in their seats to cheer on the team. Tickets are available at the gates to Nippert Stadium and at various Red Booth locations around campus.
