HANOVER, N.H. -- Senior Hannah Hinton has reached the A Singles finals at the Big Green Invitational hosted by Dartmouth College. Besides her 4-0 record so far in singles play, she also won three times to make the doubles semifinals.
Hinton defeated opponents from Rhode Island ans Southern Miss and two from Boston University. She outlasted BU's Danielle Abraham, 6-4, 3-6, 10-8, in the semifinals. Hinton's opponent in Monday's finals will be Lara Maurer from Rhode Island.
In doubles play, Hinton teamed with sophomore Elizabeth Young to win three times. The duo topped teams from Massachusetts, Dartmouth and Boston University before falling to Maurer and Valerie Chacon from Rhode Island in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, freshman Rachel Owens and junior Alizee Paradis also made it to the semifinals before losing, earning wins over duos from Rhode Island, Stony Brook and BU along the way.
Following Monday's championship singles match, the Bearcats will be off until the dual season begins in January.
