CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati Dance Team was ranked No. 1 following the Universal Dance Association's review of the video entries for this year's national championships. UC heads a list of 30 schools selected to compete in the 2007 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships, to be held Jan. 12-14 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
The Bearcats, under the direction of Lisa Spears, have won the last three national titles in the hip-hop division and have finished in the top eight in the main competition in the last four seasons.
In addition to the Dance Team ranking, the Bearcats Cheerleading Team was ranked second in the Northeast Region. They have finished in the top 10 in the nation 10 times. Both the Bearcats Dance Team and Cheerleading Team can be seen at all home men's and women's basketball games.
