CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati has signed a pair of high school seniors during the basketball early signing period who head coach Mick Cronin expects to be important parts of the program over the next several seasons.
Larry "Not only are they accomplished players now, both of these young men have an outstanding upside," noted Cronin. "They have both the desire and ability to grow as players and as people and we are looking forward to them being a part of Cincinnati basketball for the next four years."
In the case of Davis, Cronin is hopeful that he will grow in the mold of his father, 6-7 Larry Bishop, who is playing at St. Benedict's Prep for Dan Hurley this season, earned area player of the year honors and was a second team all-state selection last year at Kennedy High. He averaged 21.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.0 blocked shots. Scout.com rates him with three stars.
"Larry is a combo guard who is an excellent shooter and playmaker off the dribble," stated Cronin. "He is a quality young man from a great family and we think he has a couple more inches of growth in him.
"Rashad is a left-handed wing player in the mold of John Williamson and Pete Mickeal," Cronin continued. "He has a knack for scoring the ball and combines that with good size and athleticism."
