CINCINNATI (AP) -- Cedric McGowan scored 13 points and Marcus Sikes added 12 to lead Cincinnati to a 63-51 win over High Point in the finale of the Jim Thorpe Classic on Sunday night.
Jamual Warren and Deonta Vaughn each chipped in nine points to help the Bearcats (3-0) complete their sweep and win the championship of the exempted, round-robin tournament.
Darryl Hudson scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the second half to help Howard (1-2) hold off Tennessee-Martin (1-2) for an 86-81 win in the first game of the doubleheader.
Mike Jefferson led High Point (1-2) with a game-high 15 points, and Eugene Harris had 11.
High Point made 6-of-13 3-point shots while leading by as many as eight points twice in the first half before Cincinnati ended the half on an 8-0 run sparked by a layup and two free throws by Sikes.
John Williamson scored eight consecutive points for Cincinnati on back-to-back 3-pointers and a layup during a 15-5 run to open the second half. Sikes capped the surge with a conventional three-point play.
The Panthers came back to cut the lead to three on Jefferson's 3-pointer with 7:54 left, but McGowan came up with a steal at midcourt and dribbled in for a dunk to return momentum to the Bearcats.
