FINDLAY, Ohio -- Senior Renee Hein broke her own school record and met the NCAA 'A' standard with a 6' 1-1/2" high jump as the University of Cincinnati track and field team opened its indoor season at the Findlay Oiler Open on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Hein, who twice competed in the NCAA Outdoor Championships (2005, 2006), automatically qualified for her first NCAA Indoor Championships with the school record-setting jump. She topped her own school mark of 5' 9-1/2", set in 2004.

Monica Hundley qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in both the 60 meters (7.80) and the 60 hurdles (8.84).

The field events were a strength for the Bearcats, as Shintara Carpenter (triple jump, 38' 9"), Tara Meier (pole vault, 12' 5-1/2"), Brittany Klima (pole vault, 12' 5-1/2"), Lisa Klotz (shot put, 41' 8") and Emily Taylor (shot put, 41' 5-1/4") all qualified for the BIG EAST Championships.

UC's 4x400 meter relay squad captured the event title in 3:55.35.
