- sophomore Shelly Bellman was named to the BIG EAST Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for her performance in the Bearcats' 67-62 loss to No. 16 Louisville on Dec. 14.
Bellman, a 5-10 guard from , , notched 16 points and nine rebounds against the undefeated Cardinals at Freedom Hall in . She also generated three steals and two assists. Her three 3-point field goals were a season high.
Bellman, who was named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team last year, leads UC in scoring (15.4), rebounding (7.4) and is second in field goal percentage (.500), hitting 50-of-100 attempts.
The Bearcats (7-2) host Alabama A&M on Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena and Tennessee Tech on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m., also at Fifth Third Arena.
