CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Cincinnati tennis team will open the dual match portion of its schedule when the Bearcats host Bowling Green on Friday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Queen City Racquet Club. UC was originally schedule to face Morehead State, which was forced to cancel due to injuries.

This is the first dual match for either team this season. UC is coming off a 1-16 season, but features a healthy Hannah Hinton for the first time in three years and a number of successful newcomers. The Falcons were 14-10 last year. The teams last met on Feb. 25, 2005 at Bowling Green with BGSU coming away with the 4-3 win.

Hinton posted a 7-3 singles mark during the fall season, highlighted by her reaching the final of the Big Green Invitational at Dartmouth. Freshman Rachel Owens led the team with an 8-2 mark, winning the first six matches of her career.

Sophomore Elizabeth Young went 8-1 in doubles play in the fall, playing with three different partners. She teamed with Lindsey Willeford to win the flight D title at the Hampton Roads Intercollegiate.

The Bearcats' next match is on Friday, Jan. 26 when they host Miami (Ohio).
