CINCINNATI, Ohio - On Senior Night for the Cincinnati Swimming & Diving teams, seniors Marcel Kleiner and Gerdien de Jong were leaders in the pool for the Bearcats. The visiting Kentucky Wildcats, however, posted a pair of wins, topping the men, 112-72, and the women, 105-81, at the Keating Aquatics Center on Friday night.
The 12 seniors swimming in their final home event were Aaron Celik, Al Dowling, Daniel Goldberg, Kleiner and Steve Marshall for the men; and Karen Brasier, de Jong, Kristen Funk, Annelie Jonsson, Erica Pass, Paola Rivas and Randi Vogel for the women.
De Jong won all three races she was in, claiming victories in the 50 and 100 Free and anchoring the winning 200 Medley Relay team. Fellow senior Randi Vogel earned the win in the 100 Back and was second in the 200 IM.
Kleiner won the men's 50 Free in a season-best 20.60 seconds and was second in the 100 Free. Jeremy Peter won two races, the 200 IM and 500 Free.
The Bearcats are back in the pool on Saturday, traveling to take on Wright State in Dayton at 1 p.m.
