COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Cincinnati tennis team suffered its first defeat of the season on Saturday, getting swept by Ohio State, 7-0, at the Jesse Owens West Recreation Center. The Bearcats dropped to 2-1 on the season and the Buckeyes moved to 2-0.

UC's best doubles match was at No. 2, where Valeriya Dandik and Alizee Paradis fell to Sonia Ruzimovsky and Caitlin O'Keefe, 8-4.

In singles play, Hannah Hinton took the first set from Christina Keesey at No. 2, but Keesey rebounded, to win 2-6, 6-2 (10-6). All the other losses were in straight sets.

UC hosts a pair of matches next weekend, facing Eastern Michigan on Friday, Feb. 2 at Queen City Racquet Club and Rutgers on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Western Hills Racquet Club.
