This is the ninth in a 17-day series previewing the 2007 Bearcats baseball team. Today's installment features 10 questions with sophomore shortstop Adam Yeager.

1. How did you first become interested in baseball and who was your role model?
"I first became interested in baseball when I was four or five when I was playing tee-ball, and I just loved it since. My role model was my dad."
2. What was your favorite baseball team growing up?
"Whichever team had Ken Griffey Jr. on their team, so it would have been he Mariners."
3. In high school did you like baseball or basketball better?
"I actually liked basketball better. I liked the atmosphere, all the people, and how quick the game is."
4. Why did you decide to come to the University of Cincinnati?
"For many reasons; it was close to home, so my family could see me play. UC has awesome athletic facilities and especially this baseball stadium."
5. Which position is your favorite in baseball?
"My favorite position would have to be shortstop. I like that you move around a lot, and you are very involved in the game compared to other positions."
6. What do you do for fun in the off season?
"I like to play X-Box and cards with my friends. I just enjoy relaxing and hanging out."
7. Which hand do you write with and does that affect your batting?
"I write with my right hand but I have always been able to use both hands. When I little I just taught myself to do both."
8. Where is your favorite place on campus?
"My apartment. I love my apartment and just hanging out and stuff in there."
9. What is your dream job?
"Playing in the major leagues for the Cincinnati Reds."
10. What goals do you have for this season personally and for the team?
"Personally I would like to do better in all aspects, and as for the team I think we all want to be BIG EAST Champions."
