, -- Freshman Lilian Jelimo won the 3,000 meters in just her second collegiate race, leading the indoor track and field team at the Indiana Relays on Friday and Saturday at Gladstein Fieldhouse.
Jelimo finished second last week in the mile on the same track. This time, she sped to a 10:06.31 finish, winning the event. Teammates Karen Berling (10:08.76) and Megan Knapp (10:16.21) finished second and fourth respectively.
Freshman Ashley Arnold topped her personal best in the 400 meters with a 57.99, finishing ninth. Senior Renee Hein, the nation's top high jumper to this point in the season, finished second in the event with a 5' 11-1/4" clearance. Tara Meier (12' 1/2") and Brittany Klima (11' 8-1/2") posted solid marks in a competitive pole vault pool.
UC will travel to , for the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday, Feb. 10, where state bragging rights will be on the line.
