Villanova Serves as Unfriendly Host to UC, 64-48

VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Mike Nardi scored 16 points and Villanova used a 22-0 run to outmatch the University of Cincinnati men's basketball team in a 64-48 decision on Wednesday night.

John Williamson scored 15 points to lead the Bearcats.

Dante Cunningham scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Wildcats (18-7, 6-5 Big East).

After hitting a couple of 3-pointers to open the game, the Bearcats (10-15, 1-10) held an early 6-2 edge. The visitors let the lead slip away and did not recover.

The normally surehanded Bearcats gave up 12 turnovers in the first half that the Wildcats converted into 17 points.

UC sank 18-of-22 free throws on the night, while Villanova connected on 12-of-13 charity tosses.

Villanova led 34-17 at the break.
