CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Cincinnati tennis team dropped its second-straight match, falling to Eastern Michigan, 5-2, at the Queen City Racquet Club on Friday night.

The Bearcats dropped to 2-2 with the loss, while the Eagles climbed to 2-3.

Though all three were competitive, EMU won all three doubles matches. UC won at least four games in each, with Jennifer Keiner and Elizabeth Young falling at No. 3 by an 8-6 score.

In singles play, the teams split straight-set wins in the bottom four spots. It was Keiner and Young who picked up UC's wins. Young topped Catherina Bestehorn at No. 4, 6-3, 6-3, and Keiner bear Laura Fernandez at No. 6, 6-3, 7-5.

The match came down to the top two matches and the Eagles came away with the win on the strength of two, three-set wins. At No. 1, Vanessa Frankowski edged Hannah Hinton, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, and at No. 2 it was Aditi Krishnan coming back to beat Rachel Owens, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The Bearcats are at home again on Saturday, hosting Rutgers at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club at 4 p.m.
